The Ultimate Feat for your FEET – The Feldenkrais Method®
Saturday, April 12th
11:00am-5:00pm
$65 prepaid by March 28th / $75 after March 28th

Our feet are our base of support and our connection to the earth. Our feet contain many nerve endings for sensing and responding to the different feats that we may attempt in our lives – standing, walking, running, dancing, skating. However, shoes, flat sidewalks, elevators and escalators invite us to lose the natural sensitivity that our feet possess. In this one day Awareness Through Movement® Workshop, you will learn to re-experience your feet in new and different ways that enhance your vitality and balance. You may even learn how to balance a book or two on your feet. And that is truly a fun feat.
Instructor KATHY JAMES trained with Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais and is a certified Feldenkrais practitioner and assistant trainer. She has a second-degree black belt in the martial art of Aikido and trained as a dancer. She is also an adjunct faculty member at John F. Kennedy University, teaches through Kaiser Permanente in Northern California and has a private practice in Petaluma, CA

Immune System &
Self-Criticism Workshop

April 19th, 2008
6:00 to 8:00 pm
$20.00 prepaid by April 11 / $25.00 at door

The organs and systems in our bodies hold various emotional vibrations. As an example, the liver is associated with frustration, irritability, and anger, while the Immune System holds the energies of self-criticism and self-judgment. When we are overly critical of ourselves or of our bodies, or if we frequently feel “not good enough,” these energies can build up in the Immune System causing various disturbances and blockages and impede the body’s ability to fight bacteria and viruses. Common illnesses associated with stagnant Immune System functioning include frequent colds, flues and herpes, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, mononucleosis, depression and anxiety, digestive disorders, allergies, and other auto-immune diseases. This workshop will focus on the Immune System, which includes the spleen and the thymus gland, and the energies of the fourth chakra, or heart center. You will learn simple meditative techniques for clearing your Immune System of the energies of self-criticism, self-judgment, self-denial, selfbetrayal, and self-hatred. You will then reset your Immune System at optimal wellness and reprogram your negative “self-talk” to a more positive and loving dialogue with yourself...

The facilitator, Traci Hanson, is a psychic healer and teacher. She does private clairvoyant readings,
spiritual healings, and teaches meditation and clairvoyant classes. She is also a Ho’oponopono
practitioner and a Reiki practitioner.

Journey to India – India Photo Journal
Saturday Evening, May 24th
7:30-9:00pm

Free event, donations to COTS accepted at door if you wish.

In early December 2007, Dr. Johanina Wikoff and Stephen Gale undertook a spiritual journey to India. They had the blessing of immersing themselves in the culture of India for six weeks. Their travels took them to Delhi, Rishikesh, Varanasi and Udaipur and deep into the countryside to meditate at sacred sites where they were the only westerners. They experienced the excitement, ennui, danger, serenity, beauty, exhaustion, frustration and physical challenge of being on the road in a strange and mysterious place. All the while, India worked them in ways they are still understanding. During their travels, Stephen took pictures of people, details, colors, temples and objects that came to his attention. The slide show presentation is his visual journal. It covers images of old men, temple keepers, children, cows, saris, temple walls, sacred objects, paintings and sculptures. If you’d like to have a marvelous Indian meal beforehand, the plan is to meet at 5:30pm at Star of India (Plaza North Shopping Center, next to Long’s).

Join Baxter for this therapeutically-focused workshop that will look at keeping the spine healthy as we age, addressing lower back, middle back and upper back and neck health. We'll explore the entire river, from the source, the spring of the mind, to the delta of the sacrum, and see how asana, pranayama and meditation keep the flow going. Our practice will combine active practices for the 3 main areas of the spine, as well as pertinent discussion. Appropriate for all levels.

Conflict as a Doorway to Connection

Saturday, July 26th
12:30-5:00pm
$60 prepaid / $75 at door

When we are in conflict, we are connected in a certain way: we just don't like the nature of that connection. The quality of this connection typically doesn't lend itself to mutually satisfactory solutions. Using Nonviolent Communication (NVC), you can transform conflict into valued connections. The purpose of this workshop is to hasten your acquisition of NVC fluency and to learn how to use those skills to transform conflict into easeful, connected conversations, which result in mutually satisfying resolutions.

Instructor IKE LASATER practiced as a trial attorney in San Francisco for 20 years, has been married to yoga teacher Judith Hanson Lasater for 36 years and co-parented three now-adult children. Looking back, he wishes he had the conflict resolution skills that he has since developed through Nonviolent Communication. Ike currently consults, coaches and offers training.
