Class Descriptions:
Ashtanga Primary Level: Ashtanga Primary Level: Ashtanga Yoga is the original flow practice that all other vinyasa and power yoga variants derive from. In a first series ashtanga class, we guide you through the 70 poses of the traditional practice, also known as the ashtanga primary series. It's fast paced (traditionally 5 breaths per pose), fun and very challenging for all levels.
Belly Dance: Belly Dancing is one of the most ancient forms of movement, originally mean to alleviate menstrual pain and aid in childbirth and has evolved into the very popular dance form we know today. It's a great form of exercise but also low-impact so any age, weight or body style can benefit and will fall in love with it!
Community Class: In these tough economic times, what we all need is a little stress relief, right? Let this be your opportunity to give back to and nurture yourself. Whether you are new to yoga or a veteran yogi, this is an opportunity for you to deepen your understanding of alignment and ease in the yoga postures. For those who already practice in the Iyengar tradition regularly, this is a way for you continue to refine what you've learned in class and to keep that rhythm going in your practice at home. Each week we will explore a new series of postures and see how each of the postures relates to the others. I look forward to seeing you on the mat!
